On the afternoon of June 7th, 2022, the dean, Professor Jiang Yongmu, gave an in-depth and fascinating lecture to the top class of 2020 at the Jiang'an campus. The whole class and the head teacher,Mr. Yu Chuanjiang, are present.

The lecture revolved around the theme of "Rural Revitalization Strategy Based on Changes of the Main Contradictions in the Society". Based on his in-depth research and data calculations,Prof.Jiang firstly analyzed the main contradictions in the current Chinese society from two dimensions of "people's ever-growing need for a better life" and "unbalanced and insufficient development", then he pointed out that the unbalanced economic development in our country is mainly due to the unbalanced development of urban and rural areas, and these changes in the main social contradictions surely have made higher requirements for agricultural and rural development.With a vivid description on the historical changes in people's current need for"watching movies"from the past need for"eating twice-cooked meat",his lecture deepened the audience's understanding of "people's ever-growing need for a better life".

The dean further expounded the new changes and new trends of the rural revitalization strategy from three aspects: general policy, general goal and general requirements. The general policy has been shifted from the integration of urban and rural areas to the priority development of agriculture and rural areas. The general goal has been changed from agricultural modernization to agricultural and rural modernization, while the general requirements have been updated from production development to industrial prosperity, from clean village appearance to ecological livability. Thus,the connotation of rural customs and civilization is enriched and developed.The government has continuously improved abilities from management democracy to effective governance,and our people enjoy better and richer lives.

Professor Jiang emphasized that top innovative talents should live up to their youth and make unremitting efforts. In promoting the rural revitalization strategy,we must not only adhere to the fine tradition of our country's long-standing agricultural civilization, but also actively adapt to the new changes in agricultural and rural development. Our students should try to be the trend-setters of the times.

The lecture ended successfully with the warm applause of the audience.The students responded that they have learned a lot with a deeper understanding of our country's rural revitalization strategy and have got a stronger sense of shouldering this historical responsibility.
