Since it was put forward in 2005, The variation theory of comparative literature has been deeply reviewed by famous scholars such as professor David Dammsch from Harvard University, Professor Haun Saussy from University of Chicago ,Professoe Bernard Franco from University of France Sorbonne and so on.
The Variation Theory of Comparative Literature comprehensively combs the research status at home and abroad, and is divided into two parts: the first, second and third chapters analyze the academic background, philosophical basis and innovation path of variability from the external aspects of the subject; the fourth, fifth and sixth chapters analyze the theoretical connotation, extension boundary and practical methods of variability from within the subject. The main innovations are as follows: the fifth chapter combs out the four rules of literary variation, which is the effective net response to the "degree" of variation; the first section of chapter VI "spread variation" is divided into translation variation, transmission variation and acceptance variation; the second section "interpretation variation" is divided into dislocation interpretation variation, counterposition interpretation variation and shift interpretation variation. The third section "structural variation" is divided into literary structure variation, literary theory structure variation and cultural structure variation, these nine branches constitute the practical discourse system of variability.

The notes on The Language Chan of Shimen, which integrates meaning, textual research and grammar, is a representative works by Professor Zhou Yukai for decades to study Huihong and Zen Buddhism, which contains a unique academic concept and represents a new height of collection literature and Zen literature collation in China. The collation reflects Professor Zhou's profound academic power, the note is not only the crystallization of the systematic study of Huihong and Zen literature, but also the comprehensive summary of Professor Zhou's long-term study of Tang and Song poetry and Zen literature, taking Huihong's works as the "point", the Tang and Song poetry as the "face", the Chinese poetics tradition as the "line", the combination of points and lines and the series of points and lines. Although Shimen character Zen School Note is a kind of basic literature collation, its academic value, academic concept and its true grasp of Chinese traditional poetics and traditional culture are far from the simple collation of ancient books. The academic level and academic methods reached by it are of great significance to the arrangement of ancient books at present. The notes on words, sentences and allusions in Shimen Zen School Notes, taking Su Shi, Huang Tingjian and du Shi and Song notes of Huihong's contemporaries as the core documents, implement the notes to "small" instead of casting a net on "Da", which can especially reveal the feelings of writing by the ancients and is the correct way to note ancient books.
《石门文字禅校注》之注释,达到了当下集部文献整理的高水准,这得益于周裕锴教授对北宋士人群体、唐宋诗歌、禅宗史实“深入骨髓”的理解。这种高水准表现为对诗文义法的大量揭示、史实文辞的梳理辨析、禅宗俗约的总结提挈等诸多方面。如对诗文义法的揭示,是将中国诗话、诗论中的批评观念应用于具体诗作、诗句的校注之中,从而使得注释包含有丰富的诗学理论;又如注释中多用“此化用其意”“此借用其语”指明惠洪诗句之承袭渊源,尤能呈现惠洪的精微文思。
The notes on The Language Chan of Shimen, have reached a high level of literature collation, which is due to Professor Zhou Yukai's understanding of the "deep bone marrow" of the Northern Song Dynasty scholars, Tang and Song poetry and Zen historical facts. This high level is manifested in many aspects, such as a large number of revelations of poetry and prose, the combing and discrimination of historical poems, the summary and introduction of Zen customs, and so on. For example, the disclosure of the meaning of poetry and prose is to apply the critical ideas in Chinese poetry and poetics to the proofreading of specific poems and verses, so that the notes contain rich poetics theory; for example, the use of "this meaning" in the notes points out the inheritance origin of Huihong's poems, especially Huihong's meticulous thoughts.
